Building and scaling AI systems looks different once you leave the lab. Join us for a lunch with Dr. Patrick Butler from Nebius, to discuss the messy middle between “it works on my machine” and production-grade infrastructure at scale. 

We’ll dig into what actually breaks (and what actually works) when moving from research prototypes to production workloads — GPU provisioning, scaling headaches, cost tradeoffs, and the lessons learned the hard way. Title: Applications of Image Analysis & AI in the Understanding of Cancer and Metabolic Syndrome

Abstract: A review of systems developed in the studies of breast cancer, lung cancer, metabolic syndrome and liver cancer.

Bio: Sir Michael Brady was a member of the AI Lab at MIT (1980-5) and is now an Emeritus Professor of Information Engineering at the University of Oxford, and an Honorary Professor at the Mohammed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in Abu Dhabi. Brady was knighted by the British Crown in 2004 for services to the field of engineering. He is the founder of several companies including three which will feature in his lecture: ScreenPoint Medical (breast cancer); Optellum (lung cancer); and Perspectum (metabolic syndrome and liver cancer).

Agentic AI—systems that move beyond generating content to taking autonomous, goal-directed actions in real time—is top of mind in the news, in research, and in business. 

MIT CSAIL has a very strong Agentic AI research ecosystem, with PIs exploring last mile AI, security, deployment, cost, physical AI, and so many aspects of the agentic space.
