Commonwealth Alternatives (“CA”) invests in early-stage, revenue generating high-growth technology-enabled companies that are affiliated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (“MIT”). Principals of CA have a combined 14-year operating history at the nexus between MIT labs, putting them at an advantageous position for identifying, selecting, and developing promising investment opportunities. In addition, CA’s CEO was the co-founder of Rubicon, a unicorn (company with a valuation greater than $1 billion U.S. dollars) that went public in 2022. Rubicon is the largest digital marketplace for waste and recycling in the world, actively managing over 90% of the Fortune 500’s waste stream. CA’s three other General Partners combine more than 50 years of finance experience ranging across Alternative Investments, Credit Products, and Mergers & Acquisitions with significant track records in scaling and exits. CA pursues investment opportunities in which the firm can partner with founders to contribute management expertise, commercialization capabilities, financial guidance, and access to our extensive networks in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Life Sciences, Energy and Infrastructure, and Industrial Technology sectors.
