FinTechAI@CSAIL is an initiative within MIT’s Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). It is an evolution of our FinTech@CSAIL initiative established in 2017. As AI technology advanced, and policy questions grew, many companies expressed interest in narrowing the scope to focus on AI.

Led by Professor Andrew Lo, the initiative enables the member companies to connect with leading AI researchers in CSAIL to learn the capabilities, and challenges, of AI advancements. Additionally, it explores how the technical developments could impact the global economy through industry applications and considers how policy can be shaped to address the new capabilities. FinTechAI envisions collaborations with other relevant groups at MIT including the Laboratory for Financial Engineering, The Initiative on the Digital Economy and others.

Therefore, through FinTechAI@CSAIL, we will partner with companies and leverage MIT’s convening capabilities to bring together researchers, industry leaders, policy makers, regulators, and academics to explore new AI technologies and address AI technical challenges. 

Through this initiative we will collaborate on workshops, best practices, and create white papers to share knowledge and drive impact.
