Job Description:

The Durability, Damage Tolerance and Reliability Branch within the Research Directorate (RD), is seeking an individual to serve as a Research Computer Engineer. The incumbent will be
responsible for the development of computational tools and methods for advanced structural materials simulations to assist in developing novel materials and study damage processes at
multiple length scales in structural materials, including computational investigations of materials subjected to static, cyclic, and impact loads under representative flight environments.

The incumbent will work with other computer experts within NASA to advance core high-performance computing capability and to effectively utilize emerging computational tools.

Robust codes will be developed and continually customized and maintained to exploit emerging computational and algorithmic paradigms and high performance computing architectures.

The incumbent will be expected to develop state of the art software and algorithms for advanced computational materials predictions; develop data-driven, machine learning approaches to experimental/simulation data analytics; develop computational models to predict fundamental deformation mechanisms in materials at operative length scales; advance and apply computational methodologies that exploit emerging computing paradigms.
